David’s Biography in Brief 18 July 2015

Born and raised in the suburbs of Melbourne Victoria, David’s family were active members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. During his childhood David’s faith and belief in God was simple and honest, so at the beginning of 1973 he made a decision to surrender his life to God and was baptised in the beautiful school grounds of Lilydale Adventist Academy where he continued to gain his secondary education.

After completing a trade apprenticeship as a qualified carpenter & joiner, David’s goals and dreams were to be involved in “fly & Build” mission trips as a volunteer in the Lord’s work around the world. The need for new churches, schools, and the upgrade of orphanages was enormous; however, it was not to be.

In 1995 David found himself lying in a hospital bed after having back surgery the day before, asking God that age old question, “why!?” It now seemed like David’s dreams of serving the Lord were shattered, but God had a different plan for his life.

During his time in recovery, David’s heart was convicted to share a song he had listened to in his hospital bed. At the age of 34 he followed his conviction and discovered that God had given him a voice to sing the saving Grace of Jesus, and so, sang his first solo ever at his local church. Shortly after he was invited to join the well known gospel band “SPECTRUM” in Perth Western Australia, where he, his wife, and their two children were living.

David felt a strong desire to spend more time with his family and so in 2004/2005 David said farewell to SPECTRUM and went solo. Over the last ten years David has received numerous invites around Australia to sing for Jesus, and it didn’t take long for David to understand that God had granted his dreams come true after all. The Lord sent David not on “fly n Build”s but on “Fly n Sing” projects to win souls for His kingdom.

The Lord has used music to open the hearts of the people for thousands of years, and it is still the same today. David has received invitations to support evangelistic outreach projects throughout Australia along with invitations to assist in fundraising concerts for overseas missions.

In July 2010, immediately following a 'Big Camp' concert he presented in Townsville Queensland, God convicted David’s heart to record the songs he sang. By faith and God’s patient pursuit and guidance, it took David almost five years to complete the self funded project. In February 2015, God opened the door for David to record his first album “SURRENDER” in Nashville Tennessee, USA, at “DAYWIND Studios” ( A wonderful Christian recording & publishing organisation). The whole experience has brought to reality one of David’s favourite Bible texts found in Psalms 63:3 – “Because Thy loving kindness is greater than life, my lips shall praise thee.” (KJV)

David’s passion is to be a vessel that will draw precious people closer to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and challenge every listener to answer the Holy Spirit’s call to SURREDER all to Jesus before it is too late.

One of the most important lessons in ministry David has learned and continues to learn is that it is not our ability God desires of us, it’s our availability! If you are serious about doing something for Jesus, remember this:

God will provide the tools to complete whatever task He has planned for each one of us, all we need to do is to SURRENDER self to Him and He will do the rest, to His Honour and His Glory, Amen.
